Pool Decking

Traditional To Sleek and Contemporary!
Decking That Meets Durability and Safety Requirements

Unrivaled Craftsmanship and Beauty

When considering pool decking, the most important thing to think about is the type of material. Some have more options and flexibility in terms of texture, pattern, color, price, and maintenance. Ultimately, the choice should be based on factors such as the surrounding space, landscape, traffic, budget, and the time and effort you have to spend on maintenance.

Unlike your typical patio, pool decks must meet particular performance requirements. They need to be resistant to harsh pool chemicals and resistant to continuous water exposure. They must also be slip-resistant, splinter proof, and easy on bare feet.

Answers to common questions

What is a Pool Deck?
Decking is the materials surrounding the pool and extends to or slightly over the pool’s edge. One of the biggest trends is paver decks. Paver decking provides a colored, textured, and inviting area around the pool that does more than provide a safe, slip-resistant deck for sunbathing and barbecuing.

Your decorative decking can also complement the home’s exterior and tie in with your backyard’s environment. You can choose a paver deck with colored textured along with various shapes and sizes

What is Pool Coping?
Coping is a cap for the edge of a concrete pool. When someone inside the pool hangs on to the top edge, they are holding on to the coping. Besides being necessary, the coping provides a decorative accent to help enhance the appearance of your pool.  It also prevents water from getting behind the pool shell, integrates the finish and tile of the swimming pool, and helps water that is splashed out of the pool flow away from the pool and down into deck drains.

There are many coping options from pavers, tile, stone and more. Once you have selected the desired style of coping, we can help you choose the color or pattern desired to achieve your dream oasis!

A few patio deck options

Aggregate
The exposure of the aggregate in concrete will produce a pebble-like finish. This type of deck surface can be a mix of colors and sizes and is highly slip-resistant.

Pavers
Precast pavers are a popular and great choice for pool decks. They can provide the look of brick or natural stone and are durable and slip-resistant. They come in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors.

Wood Decks
Wood decks are not always the best choice to put around a pool. They do not stand up as well as the other types of pool decks when it comes to moisture and being exposed to harsh pool chemicals. However, there are other ways to build a pool deck that closely resembles real wood.

Brick / Tile
Both of these have long been used. They are durable and attractive. The downside is they can be slippery and hot in the hottest of weather. The products themselves can be more expensive, as well as the installation, compared to some other pool decking.

Flagstone / Bluestone
These types of stones are beautiful and offer a sleek and traditional look. Unfortunately, they can become hot to the feet under the hot sun.
